_ “In the theater...there is a kind of Strange Sun, a light of abnormal intensity by which it seems that the difficult and even the impossible suddenly become our normal element.”
Join us December 15th for our latest:
Mystic in the Savage State
by David A. Miller
Sunday, December 15th, 3pm
at the Manhattan Theater Club Creative Center
311 West 43rd Street (between 8th and 9th avenues) on the 8th floor
Mary Indigo Calkins, teaching at Wellesley College in the 1890s, is one of the first teachers of psychology and the first woman in her field. She is on a quest to legitimize synesthesia (or “color hearing”) in the eyes of her peers and in the minds of the field of neuroscience. Her quest engulfs her in a prism of student case studies, an obsession with young Vladamir Nabakov, and a struggle to be taken seriously.
Featuring the creative talents of:
Steph Bacon, Bryan Close, Joe Fellman, Carrie Heitman, David Howell, Jennifer Johns-Grasso, Evan Mueller, and Kailey Prior
Strange Sun Theater is currently accepting submissions of new plays. Feel free to email submissions of full length plays or musicals to email@example.com. Please include a cover letter with a synopsis. We will not be able to get back to everyone-- but thank you for your submissions!
